Gaurav is a world-class researcher and Professor for civil and environmental engineering as well as materials science and engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He also heads the Institute for Carbon Management, where he and his team develop pioneering market-focused technologies to reduce the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and advises governments and Fortune500 companies.
His interest goes beyond the written word. Gaurav likes to see the implementation and impact of research. That’s why he founded and heads CO2Concrete. A deep-science venture working on an industrial process for CO₂ utilization by manufacturing a low-carbon concrete-equivalent material that releases 75% less carbon than conventional techniques and can store waste CO2 too.
Not surprisingly, Gaurav holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
